Pokerrito to the Rescue: Office Lunch in Toronto
You know the moment
It is almost one o'clock. There is a half eaten salad next to your keyboard, and someone on the team asks, "So what are we eating?"
Nobody answers. Everyone has already been to the same three places this month.
Office lunch in Toronto's Financial District often goes like this. Meetings run long, the day fills up, and lunch gets squeezed in wherever it fits. So we started something small at Pokerrito Commerce Court.
What Pokerrito to the Rescue is
Pokerrito to the Rescue is a free team lunch for one Financial District office each week. We are inside the PATH at 199 Bay Street, Unit C-144, and we know how busy the lunch hour gets down here.
People who work in offices in the Financial District can nominate their team. You tell us, in a few sentences, why your office needs a rescue. We read every nomination and pick the story we enjoy most. It is not a random draw.
The rescued office gets lunch for up to 10 people, on us.
The first three rescues
Rescue #001 went to Fort Capital. Their nomination said, "Some people have never tried poke before... and they need to be enlightened." Fair enough.
Rescue #002 went to Compass Group Canada at CIBC Square. Their note said, "As we've entered our busy season, we barely have time to take a lunch break!"
Rescue #003 went to a downtown Toronto team that asked us not to share their name, so we won't. We can share their line, though: "Our stomachs have officially escalated this matter to management."
How a rescue works
Nominate your office. Go to the nomination page. The form takes about a minute.
Nominations close on Tuesday. Every Tuesday at 5 pm, we pick the office whose story we enjoy most.
We email the picked office on Wednesday. Please reply within 48 hours.
We send the team a link. One person on the team picks everyone's bowls through it.
Pick up lunch on the Wednesday after we email. Someone from the team comes to Pokerrito Commerce Court between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm and collects the order. It covers up to 10 people.
Lunch is pickup only. We do not deliver, so one person walks over to collect it. For an office lunch in the PATH, that is a short trip on a cold day.
A thank you for everyone who nominates
Only one office is picked each week, so everyone else who nominates gets a thank you.
Show your confirmation email at Pokerrito Commerce Court and you get one free tiramisu, miso soup or lemonade on an in store pickup order of 3 or more bowls. It is one item per order and one use per nomination. It is valid until December 31, 2026.
If you are not picked, you can keep nominating in future weeks.
Find us in the PATH
Pokerrito Commerce Court is open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, and closed on weekends. You can see the Commerce Court location page for the address and hours. If you want to look at the menu before you nominate, our page for poke bowls in Toronto has it all.
